Weekend Preview

Gold Coast

Race 3 – Ken Russel Memorial Classic (1200m)

2. Dubious (7) – Clayton Douglas

Unlikely to run due to the wet ground.

Race 4 – Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m)

9. Etana (13) – Clayton Douglas

She was unlucky to not run a place last start but has had a great preparation so far and we think she can run a big race.

Race 8 – Hollindale Stakes (1800m)

5. Mask of Time (10) – Michael Cahill

He’s had a very consistent preparation so far and we threw him in the deep end last start, but he didn’t disgrace himself. This looks like an ideal race for him and he will appreciate the cut in the ground.

9. Kenedna (3) – Clayton Douglas

She came through her Group 1 victory in great order and is now on a path to the Doomben Cup. This is a stepping stone race but we think she will still run a good race.

Flemington

Race 1 – Jack Styring Plate (1100m)

6. Exquisite Beauty (2) – Nikita Beriman

Things didn’t quite work out for her on debut, but she will have improved with the experience and we think she will run well.

Race 2 – Apache Cat Handicap (1620m)

3. Dr Drill (18) – Liam Riordan

He ran very well first-up at Caulfield and will definitely appreciate the extra furlong this time so we think he will go very close.

Race 5 – Zipping Handicap (2000m)

3. Visao (15) – Nikita Beriman

He was unlucky to not win the other day but will appreciate dropping back down into three-year-old grade. He has had a couple of runs at this track so he knows it well and we think he will run a nice race.

15. Wealthy Wolf (12) – Jye McNeil

He won well last start and we think he is a horse on the rise so he should run well.

Race 8 – Australian Trainers’ Association Handicap (1800m)

3. Pacodali (9) – Liam Riordan

His first-up run was good and he’s in good order. We think he will be at his best third-up, but he can still run well here.

Morphettville

Race 1 – Triple M Handicap (1600m)

1. Lite’n in My Veins (8) – John Allen

In the small field, he should be able to dictate the race and run it on his own terms which is what suits him best so we think he will go well.

Race 4 – TAB Handicap (2000m)

8. Thunder Cloud (10) – Craig Williams

He has been set for this race for a while and we think he is pretty spot on so he should go close.
