Saturday to determine Kaching Millions bid; Weekend Preview

First Light Racing’s Kaching could be on a plane to the Gold Coast next week but it all depends on his result in a 1400m handicap at Caulfield on Saturday.

He has drawn poorly with barrier 15 and will need to win to warrant having a crack at the Magic Millions but with a bit of luck, we are hopeful he can do it.

Mark Zahra will take the ride and we think he will go close.

Earlier in the day at Caulfield, we have last start winner Yulong Monoceros running in a handicap over 1000m.

This race is a step up in grade, but she has drawn well and should be able to just sit in the pocket with cover and make a late run.

Liam Riordan claims three kilos from barrier one she shouldn’t be far away.

We then have Black Sail running in a 1600m handicap.

He has been consistent but frustrating this preparation as he runs well at every start but hasn’t won for a while.

The First Light Racing galloper deserves a win and we are hopeful it will come on Saturday.

Black Sail will be ridden by Linda Meech from gate nine.

In the final event at Caulfield, we have Enigman and Sherriff John Stone running over 1100m.

Enigman is returning from a short break but he has a great first-up record.

Sheriff John Stone has had his usual month between runs although there is just a query as to whether the 1100m is just short of his best distance but on his home track, we think he will run well.

Enigman has drawn well in barrier two and will be ridden by Mark Zahra.

Sheriff John Stone has also drawn well with gate three and will be ridden by apprentice Liam Riordan who will claim three kilos.

In NSW on Saturday we have just the one runner with Russian Romeo running in a 1200m maiden at Wyong.

His work at home has been good and he is due for a win so we are hopeful he will run a good race.

He will be ridden by Kathy O’Hara from barrier one.
